Midori Terada
Enrollment | Since I was a child, I had been taking part in ballet competitions in my country. When I was 16, choreographer Kenji Usui, who is a great friend of the Academy, saw me at a contest and suggested an audition with the Academy. I passed the audition and got enrolled with the Academy. |

Recollections | It is very hard to select a particular thing because I have a lot of bright memories! Every class at the Academy urged me to work harder and go further. I remember a graduation exam after a major injury. Back then, I was very scared, but now I cherish that memory, and it has become a part of my stage experience. |
Teachers | I was very happy to attend the class of Irina Prokofieva. I remember her priceless guidance before my first stage performance in Russia: “Don’t dance for me. Don’t dance for your parents. Don’t even dance for the audience. Dance for yourself and enjoy the moment”. |
Career | . After graduation, I worked in Odessa at the State Theater of Opera and Ballet. Then I returned to Russia and spent four years dancing in the city of Kazan. These days, I am a ballerina at the Novosibirsk Theater of Opera and Ballet. I keep competing in international ballet contests and participating in projects. Currently works in Japan. |
Plans for the future | I intend to keep performing on stage, adding new parts to my “artistic potential”. I like my theater, and I like working here. My colleagues are professionals who always perform at the highest level. I consider the chance to stay and dance in Russia a gift from Fate. Sometime in the future, I will, probably, return to Japan to show my skills to my family and the Japanese audience. |
