Traineeship Program

Supplementary Generic Education in “Choreographic Arts” for Foreign Nationals Intermediate Education

Program summary

The Traineeship Program is the initial phase of education of foreign students available at the Academy. The students will be trained in the below disciplines:

  • Classical Dance
  • Point techniques
  • Character Dance
  • Historical Dance
  • Stretching
  • Repertoire (stage practice)
  • Contemporary dance
  • Russian language

Advantages

Stage practice

Foreign students have a chance to display their skills at the Academy’s own theater.


Russian language proficiency

Students will be trained in Russian as a foreign language and take a course in Russian culture and history. Teachers of the Academy will train students to pass the RAFL-1 test.


Certificate

Upon the completion of the traineeship, students receive Completion Certificates rendering them eligible to continue their studies and training at the Academy within the framework of the Diploma Program.

Diploma Program

Intermediate Education in “Ballet Arts” – Full-time Educational Program

Duration

3 full years

Program summary

The Diploma Program is the main course of secondary vocational studies at the Academy for foreign students. They will be trained in the below disciplines:

  • Classical Dance
  • Point techniques
  • Character Dance
  • Historical dance
  • Acting techniques
  • Repertoire (stage practice)
  • Pas-de-deux
  • Contemporary dance
  • Make up
  • Russian language
  • Generic education subjects and specialized subjects (ballet history, world culture history, theater arts history, basics of dance and choreography teaching, musical literature, psychology, etc.)

Advantages

Curriculum

In addition to the full range of generic education studies and Russian proficiency training, students study basics of creative activities, performer techniques and teaching techniques, as well as a variety of specialized subjects.


Practice

Foreign students have a chance to perform at the Academy’s own theater, as well as other world-famous venues in Moscow: at the Bolshoi Theater, the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Musical Theater, the State Kremlin Palace.


Russian language proficiency

Teachers of the Academy will train students to pass the RAFL-2 (advanced level) test. Russian proficiency training takes a full academic year.


Certification

Upon the completion of the Diploma Program, graduates receive State Diplomas certifying their qualification in the Arts of Ballet and rendering them eligible to perform professionally or continue their studies at the Academy at the higher education level.

Bachelor, master, post-master, traineeship and other educational programs are conducted in Russian only.
