Recollections

Back in 2013, when I was in first grade, our class helped the graduates with their final exam in folk dance. While we were backstage, waiting for our turn to take part in a rehearsal, a graduate student performed the Lyazgi Khorezm Dance number staged by Alisher Khasanov, which I saw for the first time in my life. The moment I saw it, I fell in love with it and told myself that at my graduation I would love to perform that number. From that night on, I studied and rehearsed the Lyazgi, and in eight years, when I was in my 3rd senior year, I got a lucky chance to perform my favorite dance at a concert. I am ever so grateful to my teachers who helped me realize my eight-year-long dream!

Teachers

My first-ever teacher was Alla N. Golovko; after her it was Lyudmila V. Kovalenko, Elena N. Vatulya and Irina M. Pyatkina. All my teachers are wonderful, each in their way. They did not just teach me the craft of dancing but helped me with the all-around discoveries of the essence of the ballet performer profession.

Career

After graduation, I stayed in Russia and currently work at the Russian Ballet State Academic Theater Company.

Plans for the future

Right now, I don’t have anything specific planned for the future. I do believe there is no ultimate pinnacle in a ballet career, and one has to keep moving forward. Whichever the theater, whichever the part, I will strive to the top of my ability pouring my soul into the wonderful art of dance, to please and inspire the audiences.
