Momiji Festival at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy

At the dormitory of the Moscow State Academy of Choreography (the Bolshoi Ballet Academy), foreign junior students, together with their teachers, made crafts from maple leaves for the traditional Japanese Momiji festival.

The Momiji holiday involves admiring the autumn change of color of the leaves. First of all, the tradition is associated with the reddening leaves of the kaede maple, which is why the Japanese often call the maple momiji, which means "red leaves" in Japanese. This year, the change in color of the foliage in Japan is expected in the second half of November.
