Nutcracker at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy
On October 18, 2024, Svetlana Zakharova, Principal of the Bolshoi Ballet Academy, along with members of the faculty watched the performance of numbers from the Nutcracker at the Academy’s theater. Juniors, sophomores, seniors and soon-to-be graduates performed the numbers. Some parts were prepared by numerous teams of performers.
Foreign students of the Academy also took part in the demonstration. Mayuko Fujii (Japan, 3rd year) performed the variation of Princess Masha, Alikhan Akmatov (Kyrgyzstan, 1st year) prepared two numbers: the Harlequin dance and the Spanish dance. Tomo Ikemoto, Hana Yoshitomi (Japan, 3rd year) and Pham Gia Minh (Vietnam, 3rd year) performed the Chinese dance.
The Nutcracker ballet is a symbol of Christmas miracles, one of the most loved ballet shows favored by children and adults. It will be staged at the Academy’s theater in December. Meanwhile, students are working hard to perfect their parts. And we decided to share some photos with you.
